Classic Gingerbread Cookies | Day 19
As far back as I can remember I've made gingerbread cookies at Christmastime. When I was a kid the whole family and some of my friends got into the cookie decorating. In recent years I've been the only one who really keeps the tradition going. I'm ok with that because I spend a nice Saturday in the kitchen baking and decorating to my heart's content. I feel quite Christmasy after that.
The cookie itself is pretty standard yet tasty one, from the Joy of Cooking . I'm not sharing it since it is not my own and I don't feel right copying out a recipe that's not available online. Sorry! I'm sure you can find one online easily enouvhg. But the magic really happens with the decorating. I'm more than happy to share my decorating ideas. The most important tip is that you need to use all kinds of candy, boatloads of sprinkles, and just be creative! Below are the pictures of some of what I've come up with. Enjoy!
