Favorite Drug Store Lip Glosses

Favorite Drug Store Lip Glosses

I try so many drugstore lip products these days that it is a little bit ridiculous. I figure that my trials and tribulations should help someone other than myself, so here are My Top Three Recommendations for Drugstore Lip glosses

1.    Rimmel Stay Glossy Lip Gloss: Rimmel makes a lot of products that I adore and the Stay Glossy line is probably my all-time favorite. I have so many of that these are just the random ones I found in my various bags.
What I like: the consistency is smooth and not sticky; it is great by itself or on top of a lipstick; the glitter gives it texture and shine but isn’t overwhelming; I haven’t found a color I truly dislike; the price ($4.99) is very reasonable.
What I’d Change: the names are on these stickers on the side that either rub off or peel off when you are opening them up. Names on the bottom, please! I like the colors I have, but the red gloss is sorely lacking.
Color to try: 640 All Day Seduction – a beautiful goldy pink

2.    Maybelline The Elixer: I’ve liked Maybelline these days and was drawn to the packaging so I wanted to try it out.
What I like: THE CONSISTENCY--- sooooooo smooothhhhh. The smell is amazing too. It’s glossy without glitter.
Drawbacks: I only have liked certain shades. A couple of the brighter ones just haven’t looked quite right too me and definitely need the right lipsticks underneath. At $8.99 it’s a little pricey for a drugstore lip gloss too.
Color to try: 065 Caramel Infusion has been my favorite so far. It’s a darker muted pink, which works great on its own.

3.    Nyx Butter Gloss: I’ve only recently started to like this one. And definitely need to try more colors, but the results have been promising so far.
What I like: the color payoff, the smell (vanilla cupcakes). It’s super shiny!
What I don’t like: at least the color I’ve tried has not looked good on its own. I definitely needed the right lipstick underneath it.
Color to try: I’ve only tried 12 Cherry Pie (a bright red) and it looks really great on top of a matte red lipstick. I NEED TO TRY OTHERS. And they are only $2.99 (down from $4.99) on Ulta.com right now. Egads! Online shopping TIME. #FeelingSpendy #ShouldNotBeSpendingMoney #OhWell

Enjoy these recommendations and stay tuned for posts about other lip products and indeed other types of makeup too! And don't worry. High-end stuff is on my radar too. Check out my Luvocracy Collection for links to these products.
