Herbed Biscuits | Thanksgiving Recipes

Ever want to serve light, flaky, delicious biscuits in a flash? Well this is the recipe for you! Unfortunately, I can't claim this recipe as my own because I didn't come up with this recipe. I WISH I DID! I wanted to share it anyways because it is so simple, amazing, and really quite impressive because it is seriously layered. Once you have the folding technique down, you are golden. To top it all off, it's quick too because it's leavening with baking powder, so it is perfect for Thanksgiving when you are juggling so many different dishes and still want to serve a homemade roll or biscuit.

You can find the recipe on Oprah.com or in Choosing Sides: From Holidays to Every Day, 130 Delicious Recipes to Make the Meal, by Tara Mataraza Desmond. (Tara-- you are nothing short of a genius!) The only change I would suggest is mixing up the herbs and spices you use. The recipe calls for chive and thyme, but I've also tried garlic and rosemary, lemon and basil, and herbes de provence. All great! You could even go sweet and add a little more sugar to the dough and layer with cinnamon, crystallized ginger, and nutmeg. Just use your imagination!
