Crostini |Thanksgiving Recipes
Crostini are the perfect quick and easy appetizers and they can suit so many palates. Here are some of my favorite combinations that I really hope you try.
Beets + Goat's Cheese: mix a small amount of cream cheese and goat's cheese together and season with salt/pepper and a little bit of fresh thyme. Spread this on a cracker or dry crostini. Top with diced boiled beets.
Apple-Onion and Cheddar: saute apples and onions together with a little brown sugar for about 30 minutes until it is thick and dark. Layer the apple-onion jam with a slice of cheddar cheese on a cracker or crostini. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes until the cheese has melted.
Bacon Jam and Blue Cheese: purchase or make bacon jam (surprisingly delicious). Spread it on a cracker or crostini and top with a small bit of blue cheese.
Smoked Salmon: mix a little bit of fresh dill with cream cheese. Spread it on a cracker or crostini. Sprinkle the cream cheese with a some finely diced red onion. Top with a piece of smoked salmon.
Caprese: a classic! Marinate halved cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella (mini or diced), and chiffonaded basil, in olive oil and balsamic vinegar, salt + pepper. Rub crostini with a clove of garlic. Top the crostini with the marinated mixture.
These are the pictures of my Appetizer spread of the ones I made this Thanksgiving, but they are a great appetizer for Christmas, New Years or even a dinner party.
