October Music Playlist

It's the last day of October and it is decidedly Autumn with all this chilly and colorful weather! Also Happy Halloween! I wish I could say that I have a playlist brimming with spooky tunes for you this month, but I gravitate to more happy, dance-y, upbeat music. This 26 track playlist has got the classic "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell; high energy "Waves" by pop-duo Electric Guest; "First" by the indie-darlings, Cold War Kids; "Peaks and Troughs" by We Were Promised Jet Packs (sidenote: there's was one of my favorite shows ever); and of course who could forget One Direction's new song "Steal My Girl" because they are my pop kryptonite. We do have some darker options too, one of my October favorites, "My Body's A Zombie for You" by Dead Mean's Bones (AKA the band that Ryan Gosling sings for); the bluesy, yet soaring "Take Me To Church" by Hozier; and don't forget my favorite song of the month off of the debut EP of the mysterious 'Dark Waves,' "I Don't Want To Be In Love" which is moody and melodic with amazing lyrics that really reach into me and squeeze my heart. Plus there's a lot more so make sure to listen to the whole thing!
