Summer Round-up: Entertain Me
In years past, Summer has been deficient in the entertainment department (except for the Summer Movie Blockbusters, of course). With the advent of YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime and Summer Premieres, that has all changed. This Summer was hoping to get back into the movie release game, but I was overwhelmed with what other forms of entertainment had to offer, so I only had time to see a few things in theaters. For today’s Summer Round-up we are looking at the world of Entertainment. I'm going to be positive and only highlight my favorite summer movie, tv shows and YouTubers, just what you should check out if you didn’t get a chance.
I just took a look at what was released this Summer and all in all, kind of lackluster. No wonder I didn’t make it to the theaters that often. There are a few notable exceptions, as well as some things that were released on streaming services.

Still Looking Forward to Seeing
Neighbors, Boyhood, The Fault in Our Stars, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, 22 Jump Street, Lucy
I love TV. I said it. It’s true. There’s a lot on this list, so I’ll try to limit myself to one sentence reviews/reasons to watch.

YouTube has become my new and favorite form of entertainment. I love that is almost like grassroots media and it puts the power with the creator. People can be successful without compromising themselves. I don’t really stick with one genre of YouTuber, so here are my favorites at the moment.
PICKS
Essiebutton: a makeup blogger/vlogger, who transcends those humble beginnings. She shares her recommendations and thoughts on a wide variety of fashion, beauty, design and life things. And sometimes, just sometimes, she daily vlogs, which is magic, especially when she is hanging out with her bf, Aslan, and greyhound, Reggie.
Jesse Cox: Jesse does Let’s Play video game playthroughs. He is funny, irreverent, self-effacing, likes to play games with a story, and seems like he is probably just a really nice guy in real life. I'll put him on when I want to play games vicariously through someone because I think he plays games the way I would if I was slightly better. All in all one of my favorite people that I don't actually know.
Gabriella Lindley: I found Gabby through the one and only Zoella. Gabby just works so hard to make very high quality and useful videos and I for one appreciate it. At the same time she shares her life in her vlogs. There she is witty, charming and very real.
Dodger: I always like to see a woman kicking ass in a traditionally-male centric industry. Dodger does that in the video game world, playing some really ridiculous games and sharing her take on the industry as a whole. And you really can’t beat her voice acting in her playthroughs.
Sorted Food: these boys simply inspired me to rediscover my love of cooking. So much love.
Favorite one-offs
These are just hilarious, touching, thought-provoking and/or just worth sharing. ENJOY THE FRUITS OF MY OBSESSION!
So that’s all I have for entertainment from the summer.
