MUSIC Catch-Up Winter 2016
It's been a minute, folks! And to welcome you all back to blog, I have a MASSIVE MUSIC POST. All my music playlists from the past few months. Enjoy these top tunes from each month. (But check out the whole playlist too...)
DECEMBER
- "Put It Down by Tokimonsta feat. Anderson Paak, KRNE. Its staccato beat makes it so danceable.
- "To the Top" by Twin Shadow. Because it has an 80s anthem quality that I love.
- "Hands to Myself" by Selena Gomez. It's really just too catchy.
- "Bob Marley" by Grizfolk. It sounds like a more poppy and edgy version of folk.
- "Sister of Pearl" by Baio. There's nothing not to love in this electro-synthy dream of a song from Vampire Weekend bassist, Chris Baio.
JANUARY
- "Counting" by Autre Ne Veut. It's kind of like a melodic cacaphony with really cool vocals.
- "Kings of Summer" by ayokay, Quinn XCII. It just oozes summer and I really miss summer.
- "Throw Down Your Guns" by Wild Belle. This one sounds like it's going to be straight folky twang, but then the beat changes and it's something completely different.
- "Cold Winter Love" by Alexander Asp. This one just made me emotional when I first heard it. That says something about the song (or maybe just me).
- "In the Fog, in the flame" by Bec Sandridge. This reminds me of something that I know I love a lot. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it makes me REALLY love this song. I can't get enough of its pop/dance/rock amazingness.
FEBRUARY
- "Set on Fire" by Magic Giant. A more pop-centric version of Mumford & Sons.
- "L.A. Girlz" by Weezer. Because I'm I sucker for anything Weezer.
- "Good Touch" by Good Graeff. It hits you with catchy and melodic good times.
- "The Pop Kids" by the Pet Shop Boys. Dance-Pop from the source.
- "Sayonara (Speaker of the House Remix)" by Rebecca + Fiona. Because who am I if not a dance remix lover. And I love these lyrics.
I promise more regular posts are coming. Tentatively on Tuesdays and Fridays.
