Goals for 2015

Goals for 2015

My last post was all about making my blog and YouTube Channel better. This one is all about making me a better version of myself. I would never advocate changing myself or yourself, but I think there are lots of ways to become a happier, healthier, more grounded, more thoughtful version of the person I already am. I already like myself a whole lot and think these '2015 Life Goals' will help me become more me. Does that make sense? It makes sense to me.

Some questions...

Why am I putting this on the internet? Why am I sharing it with the world? Even if no one ever reads it I'll feel, somehow, more accountable to my goals. I'll have to look at them on here and I'll know that there is a possibility that someone else may stumble upon this post and judge me for my lack of unwavering determination to complete my goals. Even if it shouldn't be, judgement is a huge form of motivation for me.

Why do I have SO MANY RESOLUTIONS? Because I just do. Am I going to achieve all of them? Possibly! Some are just little things. Some are reminders to myself. Some are just my attempt to build, return to, or continue on with good habits. Some are fun things that I will enjoy. Some are not so fun things that I will be happy that I did in the end. Some are lifetime goals that I will incrementally add to this year. Some are big things that will change my world if I accomplish them. I'm excited by all of them and in this time of promise and fresh starts, it all seems achievable.

Does this have anything to do with the fact that I am turning 30 in April? Yes. Not gonna lie, it's scary. But I'm looking at it as an opportunity. C'est la vie. C'est MA vie.  (Is that even real French? Google translate says it's right...sorry if it isn't.)

The Resolutions

My Education

  • Read at least 12 books this year.
  • Make time to stay informed of world events.
  • Write more, and not just blog posts.
  • Try new things-- beer, tea, cuisine, etc.
  • Learn more about my hobbies and interests: photography, design, videos, etc.

My Digital Life

  • Connect with bloggers and YouTubers to become a part of the wonderful community and grow, change, and learn.
  • Add more photo trips to my blog.
  • Start the Daphne Vs. The Internet Series on YT.
  • Start the Budget Beauty and Mindful Living Series on blog.

My Organization

  • Stay organized through lists and Post-It charts.
  • Plan ahead and schedule my blog and YouTube content.
  • Keep my 5-year journal.
  • Organize and backup my computer files.
  • Organize my photos and transfer all my photos from my old computer.

My Career

  • Persevere in the job search. You will find a good fit.
  • Work on a project as Green Boxes Consulting.
  • Connect with potential clients, job contacts through networking. Don't rely on job postings.
  • Take a course or learn about LEED, web design, ExCel, and other career skills.

Myself

  • Get healthier, so that my bad heath doesn't keep me from achieving my goals and hold me back.
  • Plan my meals and eat more mindfully.
  • Move to LA, SF, Seattle, London, or just away from home. NOWHERE COLD.
  • Be more present. Treasure the memories, but don't live for nostalgia or even just the future.
  • Live within my means and be financially responsible.
  • Be more self-reflective both critically and positively.
  • Stop putting things off.
  • Stop biting my nails.

Daphne Has Fun (not the blog)

  • Take photo trips to add fun and adventure to life.
  • Try more makeup looks.
  • Drink more tea.
  • Scrapbook graduate school and 2015.
  • Watch more movies in theaters and Oscar contenders.

Let's do this, 2015! Let's make this the best year ever.

If you are out there (I'm not convinced anyone is, but that's ok), what are your resolutions? Let me know in the comments or via social media.
