I’ve been surveying all of the Comic-Con articles, posts, tweets, etc. to see all of the lovely costumes folks put together. Seriously everyone should be proud of themselves because everything looked great. I wanted to pick out a select few to share here to give them some extra props because they were especially impressive.
Things that impress me in cosplay:
- Authenticity: cosplay that stays very true to the source material and uses as many authentic materials as possible.
- Detailing: cosplay that is well-crafted down to all the details. It shows how much work you put into it.
- Beautiful creations: cosplay that is simply a wonder to behold.
- Uniqueness, Genderbending and Mash-ups: cosplay that mixes two or more ideas, themes, characters, etc., switches up the gender of the character or in some other way creates a unique spin on classic characters.
- Teamwork: multiple characters that follow some theme and all have a similar aesthetic. SO COOL!
- Fun: sometimes you can just tell when people had so much fun making and showcasing their cosplay. That’s the best.
On to the cosplay!
