The May 2015 Playlist

The May 2015 Playlist

When I went back to listen to all my music picks from this past month a lot of the songs had a similar sound. Unfortunately I think that made me a little bit tired of that sound. So, it’s been hard to choose my favorites because I’m just not feeling this month.

My first must-listen track was going to be  Anabot - (Don’t You) Fight Against The Tide. Alas that track and almost all of Anabot’s music is no longer on Spotify. I first heard the song when they did a set during the inaugural charity stream on Geek & Sundry’s Twitch Channel (A MUST WATCH FOR EVERYONE) and was not able to forgot that particular song. I’ve provided you a link to the song on their YouTube Channel, so check it out there. It’s that good. I’m going to listen to their remaining Spotify songs and put them in next month’s playlist.

Next we have Zoetrope by Sun City. I like this poppy summertime tune. It went well in Hannah Magg’s vlogs the last couple of weeks and I think it fits well with any sunshiney adventures.

Step Rockets has a great song called Kisser. It really sounds like a mix between Fitz & the Tantrums and Matt & Kim. They tied for best album of the summer in 2013 for me. So this song is just the bee’s knees.

Rounding things out I present to you the The Vaccines and their song 20/20. It is frantic and exuberant indie-rock at its best.

And finally I have my obligatory dance anthem of the month. That goes to Beautiful Now by Zedd and Jon Bellion. It’s just something that it utterly danceable.

I hope you liked my picks for this month. Follow me on Twitter to find out when I post more about music, movies and allllllll kinds of fun and usually geeky things.
